Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

Default Amazed...

I was just watching'Knight &Hales Ultimate hunting"and I guess there coming out with a new video with a collection of hunts from the past.It looks to be a good show!Anyway on one particular hunt with Jim Casada a nice gobbler approach's and Jim takes out a huge oak about 5 feet in front of him missing the gobbler clean!!Well you would think the hunt was over but all the gobbler does is stay in full strut and double gobble at the report of the shot!!Then after a few short calls the bird walks right down the gun barrel spots them and only then starts to spook!!Guess the bird thought it was thunder or something,I've had them gobble to the shot before but going away or at a distance, that was incredible!!Hope you get see it!!..Bob..

Hey Bob, I saw that show last night. It was pretty good. Knight and Hale put a good show on the air, it is one of my favorites on The Outdoor Channel.

Bobgobble - I didn't see the video, but your description brought up an old memory and I dusted off the photo album. It was Virginia, May 1990 - I still remember the 6 hunting days in a row, choke , scaring off hens twice during this time trying to cut down the competion, choke-choke - on the sixth day he was finally there, big rope for a beard, and so close, in strut, and when he walked behind the tree I thought he was coming out of strut & sticking out his neck-yes this is it... I was so in shock, I didn't even raise the gun up for a second shot as he flew off. I heard him gobblin two days later, last day of the season, never to be seen again...
It's the ones that get away that you remember most.
