RE: Do you show your prime hunting spot's other Turkey

Well, for me that's easy because I only hunt with one other hunting partner. Most of the time we have different days off and are on our own. It's a mutual agreement that if one of us finds a good spot, it's open game for both of us. I'm just as glad to see him bag a bird as he is for me. I'd have to say that he is the only person I would ever give my spots to. I know I couldn't count on the same loyalty from anybody else.

Occasionally, but they know that they can only hunt there when I am there. Every place that I hunt, I have permission cards to be on the land and the people I take know this and so far haven't broken my trust.

Last year was my first year, but I found one great spot. My first mistake was telling anyone else about it. My second was taking them there. I think I'll just forget about it and find someplace else. The answer to the question is NO!!!

I have no problem with showing anyone my areas. You had better be up real early though. John

I hunt on a 100 acre farm. I have spots I don't even tell the owner about. He hasn't asked either. Some spots are good year after year if there is not a lot of hunting pressure. I've killed turkeys from under the exact same tree in different years.

If I had to rely solely on calling to get a bird, I'd probably never get one.

I agree with GobbCaller. After doing all the scouting, field work, locating, etc. I have enough of a problem with the locals without inviting any more people there. I have a tendency to keep my spots hushed up as well!! While I'm always looking for new areas, certain "Honey Holes" always produce no matter what!! I have heard way to many war stories about taking a "friend" to your favorite spot only to find that same friend there the next time, along with the entire baseball team!! NO Thanks!!

I have one very good hunting friend that i have shown my spot. Other than that, only my family knows about it because it is on my grandma's land. We try to watch how many birds are taken each year, so the population stays high for years to come.
