You’re spot on—wild turkey legs absolutely can be delicious if cooked the right way. They do have a lot of tendons, which is why many people dismiss them, but slow cooking breaks all that down beautifully. Ten hours in a crock pot is perfect; the meat becomes tender and flavorful, and it pulls right off the bone. It’s a shame to waste them, because with patience they’re every bit as enjoyable as the breast. Totally agree: don’t throw out those legs!

++ im think so
too I heard too many times, wild turkey legs are not edible. I 100% disagree. 10 hours in the crock pot, very very tender. Meat just pulls off the bone and tendons. Do NOT throw out turkey legs !! Meat is what you make of it. |
MMM like turkey legs=))

++++Absolutely! You’re spot on — turkey legs are totally edible and can be incredibly flavorful if cooked right. Slow cooking, like in a crock pot for several hours, really breaks down the tough fibers, making the meat tender and juicy. People often underestimate them because they’re dark meat with more connective tissue, but that’s exactly what gives them so much flavor when cooked low and slow. Definitely don’t toss them — with the right method, they can be some of the best parts of the bird!
