if all i got is a 3inch i will be using the same remington nitro magnums extended range bufferd mags in #4 shot with 1 7/8oz of shotmy dad had for the last 6+yrs lol...i hope to get a 3 1/2 incher this yr...i duno why i wanna get beat up tho lol..

My own 10 gauge reloads!2-1/4 ounces of lead #4's.Traveling at about 1240fps.Out of my Ithica mag 10 if i shoot straight any gobbler within 45yards is going to sleep! <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

My best luck was with a truck horn.

It was by accident. I stopped the truck and was getting out to take a leak, when I bumped the horn. Sure enough the woods just exploded with gobbles.

Ever since then, When all of the other locate calls fail, I'll hit the horn or even slam by door. Now the key is, when you do get a response from one of these noises, don't walk straight at the gobbler. Work your way around him and start calling from a different direction.

Have heard some good things about the win hv #5's so I am gonna give them a try. Gotta punch some paper with them first to be sure though.

I've shot Federals since 1998, but this year will be an exception. After all the talk on this board, I tried the Winchester HV #5's and they are absolutely tremendous! I've switched, look out longbeards.

10GA loaded with 3 ounces of #4 nickel shot.
Even the worst of the Nitros I test fired more than DOUBLED the number of shot in the target over factory loads.
