I bought a box of Remington Premier buffered turkey loads 3.5 in 4 shot. These are the best shells i' ve ever shot out of my 1187 at 18 steps it just makes one big hole in the turkey target head. Well yesterday morning i had the chance to take my fall bird and i did at what I am guessing close to 45 yds. I never had the confidence to shoot that far but I knew the gun and shells could do it so i gave it a try and she went right down. I just had to share this with you fellas and was wondering if any one else has ever used these shells. Good luck to everyone else still hunting this fall.

I have the 1187 supermag and I use the Remington Hevi-shot 3" 1 5/8oz #6 and a Hevi-shot .665 choke. At 30 yards the pattern is the size of a sheet of notebook paper. At 40 yards it' s about 24" round.I know some people don' t like to use #6 but I have killed 12 turkeys ranging 15 to 60 yards with #6" s.The 60 yard shot was with the Hevi-shot Remington #6 it was stupid to shoot at that distance but I just got caught up in the heat of the moment and realize the distance.
