I was called into work today and wanted to clarify. The youth hunters have 2 days to hunt and the regular turkey season had one day added to it. Anyone hunting the spring turkey season must have the license to do so. There is no tagging requirements including transportation tags. That’s absolutely nothing on tagging. A form will be sent to turkey hunters to check and see how they did. Like how many birds you have seen and if you was able to shoot any of them.. You cannot have anyone hunting with you or in your blind etc. unless it is an immediate family member. They ask that you hunt close to home and stay within the self isolation guidelines. That’s it in a nutshell., This is to get people out to hunt due to the Corvus-19 virus..

I guess I just don't understand the difference that people think that it makes. Your state requires a paper tag and then check in after twenty four hours.
And people were breaking the law. If you were required to go to a physical check station... How would that have impacted that group with nine birds? They still shoot them then they head home. Just like they planned to do anyway.
When Ohio did away with check stations allot of people were saying the same thing. "now everyone will shoot all the deer" I didn't poach any more deer after the change than I did before the change. I just can't imagine that suddenly a bunch of people become poachers when tagging laws change. The people that were poaching before are still poaching. And the honest people are still honest. At least I hope so.

I am not at all opposed to the State treating us like we are not scumbags, and are in fact trustworthy people. Even if some of us aren't.
