Mods - will there be a hunting contest this year?

I know there was talk of not having one this year. Seems almost like a tragedy to think there might not be one.

Looking back almost 15 years, the turkey forum is what initially brought me to HNI, and the annual contest kept me engaged for the first 3-4 years I was on here; kids and that damn thing called 'career' seemed to take most of my time the past 10 or so years ;-)...

I would like to but it seems like it would depend on participation and someone to take the reigns.

I would be a participant if they choose to have one. I cannot take on the responsibility of running it at this time. Although I'm willing to assist if need be.

I think I know the answer, but somebody has to ask.
1st, I want to say I appreciate this site and the mods who volunteer there time and energy.

Is there anyway to just get hunters who are SERIOUS about the contest in the contest?
I do not mean good hunters and kill a lot of birds: but people that show up and post. Even just posting, hey I am here or still at it: not needing to post every week, just be active.
We had a team memeber last year that was all into at the beginning, and then just disappeared. That hunter killed birds and never posted a pic, so the score never counted; let down the whole team. Yes it is “just for fun or bragging rights”,but that is just so aggrevating and takes the fun out of it. ( at least for me)

If there is enough interest I'll be around to keep up with the scores again. I know I'm ready for turkey season.
