On this hunt my 12 year old stepson opted to fill his Minnesota turkey tag on a younger jake so he can get things ready to start out Wisconsin season which starts in just one short week. The hunt started off really slow with just a few turkeys being seen in the morning from the ground blind, but several hundred yards away in another field. After a few moves, and being busted by a bird on another ridge, we settled in at the bottom of a hill where we had heard some gobbling earlier in the morning. After having 2 birds taken from the same field just 3 days earlier, this jake was very nervous, and it took a lot of negotiating with him to finally convince him it was safe to enter the field.
