Patterning shotgun

When you are patterning your shotgun, what distance do you shoot at?

I usually pattern at 20, 30, and 40....just to see what I'm working with at those ranges. That way I will know how tight it is in close, and what kind of coverage I have at 40

Same here. Going out this afternoon to do just that. Trying out those new 3" 1 3/4oz. Winchester Longbeards in #4 shot.
Will post a couple of pic's later tonight.

I start at 10 yards without using a rest --- just to see if my sights are spot on, then I'll pattern at 20, 30 & 40 yards.

I'd suggest pattering at the range you plan/expect MOST of your shots to be at, and then back up some and go out farther, and then stick to the choke/load that holds best pattern at your again expected range of MOST shots
and I am 100% in agreement with ,
USE a GOOD rest, off a bench
to get the best pattern info!

First off, was using these shells with my Win. 1300 and a Patternmaster code Black choke tube sized .665.

50 yards. All ranges were Laser certified.

I also tried these shells at 40, but they didn't pattern worth a hoot.
