Maytom,
If I recall correctly, you shoot a Win 1300 too. I've also had bad patterns with the Mag-Blend. Regular Hevi shot #4 patterned great.

Yes, that is the very gun I still hunt turkeys with. I did shoot Nitro Company shells, which is a blend as well of 4-5-7 sized shot out of a Rhino .660 choke tube. That combo did awesome. But for the money they were charging, I wasn't impressed at the crimps that they used on their shells. The buffer would always leak out into my vest pockets? I just wanted to go back to lead shot for the cost factor, and #4's have energy levels compared to Hevi-shot all the way out to 50+ yards.

Try them in 5s or 6s and you'll probably see double the pellets in that pattern compared to your 4s. I'm using 6s and they will easily kill a bird just as dead at the same distances as your 4s!

When you are patterning your shotgun, what distance do you shoot at?

No, I did not try them in that Rhino choke. Had a new pattern master code black choke at the time.

I have to agree with Topgun 3006 that with the number 6s. I love the Winchester Max for me in number 6 shot.. But, I am shooting an old goose gun with a 3 foot barrel. The shot does not even begin to expand until it clears the full choke barrel for me.. So no turkey choke needed. My biggest problem is the up close shot as I have a habit of over shooting them.. So I will keep those distance shots out of the question as I am shooting an exception as it is designed for geese which normally are out a ways..
