Six months and counting! Bring it on!
I love the onset of fall and winter....why? Because it means we' re getting that much closer to spring of course! After filling my fall permit tag (my first successful hunt of any animal in five years!), I am so excited about next spring!
Additionally, Washington state introduced a two-day youth hunt which begins the two days prior to the general season. My ten year old son just got his hunter safety certification and is getting a Remington 870 Express Youth Model 20 gauge shotgun for Christmas. He' s going turkey hunting with his dad next year. I can' t wait to see the look on his face when he get his shotgun!
Until then, there is so much NWTF work to do....My chapter is donating 20 turkeys to less fortunate families this Thanksgiving as participants in the " Turkey Hunters Care" program, we' re awarding a $500 chapter scholarship to a talented high school senior for the winning essay on " Why Conservation is Important," and we have the annual banquet and auction in March. Did I mention I have to find a new job? My store is closing down as part of a merger....sucks. I hope I' ll be able to get the time off next April.
So tell me, are you guys getting anxious?

I hear ya Kitsap! Spring turkey season is always on my mind, even now during the height of the whitetail season. There' s nothing quite like the spring season. After we get past the first of the year, it will be downhill from there!
