Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

Default Idaho Fall Turkey Hunt

Hello!

I'm new to the forum. I came here because I wanted to learn more about hunting as well as share a story with a question.

I was up in the mountains of North Idaho with my dad turkey hunting on October 2, 2015, at 8:00 in the morning. I used no calls, no decoys, just camo and a twelve gauge with pheasant loads. After an hour and a half of sitting and waiting, we saw a pack of five turkeys in the distance. I slowly walked behind a tree close to them, slowly went around it, and fired a shot. My dad, thinking I missed, said to fire another shot, so I did. when I walked up to the pack, it turned out I hit all five! One limped away and escaped, two were dying, and two were already dead. Lucky I had four tags! When I got home, I called Idaho Fish and Game and asked if what I did was legal, explaining the whole thing, and it was! FOUR TURKEYS IN TWO SHOTS! We had a good dinner that night!

Now for my question. Is it common to get four turkeys in two shots?

Any help would be appreciated.

Jared
