Please tell me why you wouldn't just put one nice picture up of your bird like this one that I asked you to do, instead of what you did along with the ridiculous heading you used. Your retort sounded like a little kid telling his Mommy when he got caught "well everybody else does it!" I have not seen one picture on this site or any other site similar to yours, but I will also say that there are a lot of idiots posting a lot of pictures and videos on youtube that are not helping our hunting heritage one bit. You have now had almost 100 views in the short time that you started the thread with only three comments and all have been negative. It would seem like any person with half a brain would see where we're coming from, but I guess not in your case. Anyway, this was a beautiful bird and it's a shame that until I made this post with your picture that I politely asked you to put up that all we saw was your #10 boot on top of a bird's head! What a shame!

I think everyone needs to relax. Maybe the pic was in poor taste but this is, after all, a hunting forum dedicated to the pursuit of the wild turkey. I personally am not a big fan of taking pictures with animals I harvest but I do so here for the contest. That being said it doesn't bother me one bit to see a picture like this one. It is part of the hunt.

No actually Bald, no one should relax, when someone publicly posts something that does nothing for the cause of sport hunting and in fact reflects badly on hunters. A post with a "Head stomping time" along with a picture of a foot on a turkey's head shows a degree of immaturity that does not belong on a hunting message board. It doesn't bother you, well it should, it bothers me and I am not too timid to say so because that kind of crap reflects on me and every hunters with an ounce of common sense. This forum isn't Boob (You) Tube, where every ill and poorly concieved act is applauded and considered funny. The kind of lack of respect for wildlife shown by the title and picture of the origional post should not tolerated. The sad part is the OP still thinks it was a good idea. Instead of this contraversy, the op could have simply posted a tasteful picture of his turkey and recieved a bunch of ata boys.

Some of us learned a different ethic and it took. Maybe you have to be around a lot of death to understand.
Hold animals in high regard and have compassion for them as God's creatures with a value in their own right. For example, the hunter ought to only shoot when a humane, clean and quick kill is assured. He ought shoot only old stags past their prime breeding years and to relinquish a much anticipated shot on a trophy to instead euthanize a sick or injured animal that might appear on the scene. Further, one ought never shoot a female with young in tow to assure the young deer have a mother to guide them to food during the winter. Such is the "legacy of Hubert". Sure bad stuff happens, an animal is wounded or doesn't die right away, Hubertus is the ideal, the goal. I might add, shoot (cull/harvest) only those animals in abundance, pass on the over hunted or the rare ones. A quick clean kill with a little "reverence" may be more appropriate. I read about those guys arrested in Virginia for stomping on the heads of barn raised Turkeys. You have to wonder about somebody who would do that, maybe potential Psychopaths? |

Sounds like some of the cry babies need to get off their high-horse.

Only one cry baby, he left! The rest are people who have common sense and respect for hunting and the animals they hunt. No high horses just some folks who know right from wrong and say so.
