new world record turkey shot in ky

if nobody has herd yet my buddy in lyon co ky shot a 37.6 pound tom last week and nwtf is doing their thing when they confirm it it will be the new world record turkey i cant get pic to upload but you can google it and yes it weighed 37.6 it was weighed on 2 diffent certified scales

Holy Moly ---- where was he hunting? On the "Butter Ball Ranch"? That is on heck of a gobbler. Most we kill down this way are 18-12 pounds. I killed one last year that weiughted just over 25# and it was by far the heaviest I ever bagged. I This year I was skunked ! I cannot imagine another 12-13 pounds? Looking forward to seeing the details.

That's huge. Great job! A story on the hunt would be interesting. How far was the shot? Which calls and what shell did he use?
I know of two really big Rio Grande "wild turkeys" that lived on farms. One was shot in OR was (is still?) the world record Rio, by a young hunter with is dad. And another (39#) on a farm on Molokai, shot with a .22 in the back by a guy hiding in a tree.
