Holy Moly ---- where was he hunting? On the "Butter Ball Ranch"? That is on heck of a gobbler. Most we kill down this way are 18-12 pounds. I killed one last year that weiughted just over 25# and it was by far the heaviest I ever bagged. I This year I was skunked ! I cannot imagine another 12-13 pounds? Looking forward to seeing the details.

The heaviest one I've ever shot up here in MI was 23 1/2# and I can't imagine how big that bird must have been and looked as it came in if it was over 1/3rd bigger! I have seen one twice this year that I think may be in the upper 20s, but that's a far cry from over 37.6#.

My uncle hunts in mid michigan and the last couple years he's almost hit 28. To me that's crazy. 37 Is unreal!

That's huge. Great job! A story on the hunt would be interesting. How far was the shot? Which calls and what shell did he use?

I know of two really big Rio Grande "wild turkeys" that lived on farms. One was shot in OR was (is still?) the world record Rio, by a young hunter with is dad. And another (39#) on a farm on Molokai, shot with a .22 in the back by a guy hiding in a tree.
