Default 4s, 5s, or 6s?

Which do you prefer - 4s, 5s, or 6s for turkeys?

It depends. When I've shot lead I really like 5's. But I usually shoot Hevishot and I tend to like 6's with that. They give you more pellets but also as much or more energy than lead 5's.

I shoot a blend of all 3 together. Seems to work and pattern well.

I would not be as concerned on size of shot as I would the pattern. All of those size pellets will kill a turkey..you want the pattern to be dense and consistent.

I shoot 7's..but they are HTL. By using different choke tube diamters and brands, I was able to tune the gun to shoot a dense, even pattern with this size shot.

Winchester 3 1/2" #6's for me. My Mossberg really likes them.

As others have said, depends a lot on the gun and choke you have. My Nova and Jellyhead choke patterns better with the 6's. ( lead or Hevi shot ) I currently use the Mag Blend with good results.
