Anybody seeing any poults?

Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

Anybody seeing any poults?

Default Anybody seeing any poults?

I am truly amazed at the huge turkey population in my area of NE WI and I have yet to see poults!

I see bachelor flocks of Toms - an occasional single hen with no poults but yet to see a hatch.

Oh I know they are there - the population is just too large.....

Saw some just yesterday. Had to jump on the brakes of the buggy, and wait for the grass to stop wiggleing lol

I've seen four broods of varying size and age. Last
Was yesterday, the hen only had one poult left,
Fairly small After a week of nasty weather. I
Think the broods that hatched earlier faired better.

I saw 4 hens with a pretty good size group of poults with them in town here.. I am not sure how many but, it looked to be around 30 of them. But, up where I hunt I only saw 3 hens with 4 poults in a group with them.. So i am thinking that the rain may have cut down on there numbers??

Well again the reason I ask is I know the population around my north home was fantastic this past spring.......bird numbers in the area I hunted was close to 3 toms per 40 acres. I saw birds in every spot I hunted. And I know it was not the same group.'

but am worried as I have not seen one poult.
