Default 2013 big bird

Killed a 28.5 lb bird this past Spring! It had a thick long beard and ran 2 other gobblers off. But the bird only had 3/4in spurs. could this be a older bird or a young bird? I normally thought u could judge birds age by spurs but I guess not always!

were your Tom's spurs sharp or rounded off? I think
Some older birds spurs get worn down depending
On the type of terrain they call home. I also
Think that spur length has a lot to do with
Genetics.

Spurs tell the age not the Dominance of the turkey world. Not all the time the longest spurred bird is the dominate bird. They get old too and power id not behind the jumping and kicking...
