Skinny A$$ in PA
Yesterday after a rough run to PA with a tire blow out on the way , I got here last night at 7:30 PM. Had a short night and off this morning to test my luck with some Pa Gobblers.
I headed to the woods to a place that I have taken 4 differemt gobblers over the years and settled in at the same tree with my bobblin head out on the field edge. The woods was quiet for the longest time but at 6:00 am a gobbler rang out only 70 yards away.
I did a tree yelp on the Triple Threat and right away another gobble to my left and I'm inbetween them.
Soon after one flys down and I yelp soft o the mouth call with no return sound , so I sit still and watch in the direction. After about 5 minutes I see the head coming up and he stops and looks over the hill side for the hen. A placed set of cross hairs on the head and a load of Hevi 13 heads his way from the 20 gauge @ 6:30 am.
One of the lightest birds I have ever killed I have to say as it was 17 Lbs with a 8 inch beard and matching 3/4 spurs but it's a bird !.
5 Gobblers from the same tree and only feet from the one that dropped last year here...
