The guy I hunt with has been turkey hunting for over 20 years. The best decoys he said and the only ones he uses are Toms hes shot in previous years. He has them stuffed by a taxidermist and then sets them up about 30 feet in front of his blind. He says hes had Toms just charge them at full speed and go ape**** on them. Only downside is they are around $400-$500 to have made. But damn they look good.

been using a mounted tom for 3 years now and have not had a single bird run in and beat him up. only results i have seen is 2 birds that seen him and turned to leave and got shot and a group of jakes that ran away. no doubt these were all sub birds. i am not saying they dont work just saying i have not had the right encounter yet and i will keep using it til i do. lol.
i do not use him every hunt as i hunt alot of public so the only times i use him are when i hunt a private place.

I make my own mounted hens and they are by far the best decoys you can use. Forget the Toms and Jakes. I've had both a DSD hen and Jake and sold them after the first season I used them. Toms went to the mounted hen 100% of the time.
