Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

Which of these two sights?

Default Which of these two sights?

I have a cheap Centurion Tactical ($79) I took off my AK-47. I also have a Tasco Pro Point that is rated for shotgun use. Though I'm not sure about turkey loads. My question is, do you think the Pro Point would be a "usable" red dot? I don't plan on buying any new scopes this year so I'm hoping I can get by with one of these. Any feedback will be appreciated.

PS - I will be using 3" copper-plated lead #5's with a Undertaker extended non-ported choke tube.
Also the Centurion has a single wide ring for the mount, while the ProPoint has dual tactical rings on it.

Thanks!

No reason why they shouldn't work, has to be better than a single bead on the front of your barrel. Why not mount them to your gun, take them to the range, and give it a go?

Thanks...I'm going to go tomorrow and sight one of them in with regular 6 shot loads at 20yrds. Then when I get some more cash the first of the week, I will get some of the copper-plated lead 3" #5's and finish up patterning and sighting in. I think I'm going to use my short barrel since it is an accu-choke barrel. If I can get a good pattern between 30-40yrds with the short (18-1/2" + the extended choke) I will be a happy camper. I believe with some scouting I will be able to bag my first bird this spring. I also have an Excalibur Vortex crossbow I may use for the fall season. It's deadly accurate so that may be a fun way to hunt them too. But first season I'm going to use the shotgun.
