I have tried several out...in my opinion, the Danner Pronghorn GTX 18" snake boots are the best available. By far more comfortable to me than any others I have had experience with. The thing I like the most about them is that they feel good in the ankle area. They aren't loose and lacking in support, yet they don't dig into the ankle either. Also, I prefer a lace-up. A couple different types with zippers have almost caused me to lose my religion! Others like zippers much more, but it ain't for me.

These boots are expensive, but sometimes you can find a better deal on the net.

The Danner Jackal's would be my second choice, but I think the Pronghorn's are more comfortable.

I bought a pair cabelas I believe they are Cabela's GORE-TEX® Cordura® Snake Boots. Wanted to get a pair if I go south sometime soon. They are stiff, but seem to relax quick. First pair I have bought.
