Sounds like you've gotten enough advise to get you headed in the right direction. With that being said I'd like to give my two cents! LOL! In my own opinion I would really suggest finding a friend or someone that would let you go get in the turkey woods with that has some experience under their belt. You can learn more in a couple hunts than any video or magazine could ever explain. Other than that all I can say is watch out, it's addictive! Haha! Whatever direction you choose to go I wish you the best of luck and hunt safe.

Thanks for all the input and advice. I am headed in the right direction now and have a good starting point. And yes I plan on dragging a buddy out to the woods for my first hunt. That is how I got started deer hunting. We sat in the same tree and from then on out I just went to the woods and learned something new every time.
