Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

Default 2 down, 1 to go

Opening Saturday my original set up was a big goose egg. I pulled the blind and decoys and moved 500 yard to other side of field, and set the last decoy up when I heard this guy going off about 200 yrds from where I just left from! This Tom was by far the dominant bird with 11"beard, 1 3/8" spurs (4-5 yrs old) because he made a beeline for my B-mobile and trashed him. I clucked and he stuck his head up and got literally scalped!

The following monday I set up exactly where I had shot my first bird on Saturday because I had roosted a Tom about 300 yrds down another field edge. I was done hunting before the sun came up...he came in on a string because before I left the night before I purred and clucked loud enough he thought I was a hen waiting to get some in the morning. Well, he got his for sure! 5 ft from the feathers still on the ground from the 1st bird.

Going out tonight to get another one roosted I have been hearing each sit. I guess I will use my last tag on him...pictures to follow! BTW...the camera was not dated correctly. It literally was 2 days, but wrong dates.

Jeff

Close to 18 steps. The combination of the 3" Federal #5's and my XXXX turkey barrel allowed me to put the red dot on his head and you can see the outcome. This bird was huge, didnt weigh him, but surely in the mid 20#'s.
