Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

I'd say I have done 60% of my calling these past 45 years with a slate pot. I do a lot of work with a box call. Especially on windy days. And some with a diaphragm - usually for the close range coaxing work, for kee-kee runs and for cutting to the hens. I have yet to be able to master a kee-kee run on a box or slate. I take a couple of different diaphragms ... a raspy and a high pitch. I have found that the Wood Haven brands fit my mouth best. Though I used Primos brand for years and years .... before that a blade of Johnson grass. I have an original Ben Lee "Super Hen" aluminum strip, cedar trough call that I have used off and on with good success too. These are the 4 turkey calls that I tote into the woods, plus a crow call that a buddy made me and an owl hooter that made for myself from one my grand dad had that was busted when he sat on it some 50-60 years ago .

I love my Slatex and my Preston Pittman and Primos diaphrams.
