Default turkeys struting in fall?

i have been driving around while guiding deer hunts november and december and i have seen several toms struting and gobbling to the point where i would swear i could have killed them if i was hunting turkeys why do they do this in the fall?

I don't have the answer to this but I have noticed the same exact thing here in Michigan while deer hunting. I would like o know the answer as well...gets me excited for spring though!

I am guessing here as I am no expert!

I think it is a dominance thing. For one to tell the others I am king or alpha. All other animals do that why not turkeys?

You clearly see this issue in spring why not all year?

Yeah, I would guess that being in a bacholer group with a bunch of guys, there is bound to be some displays of dominance.

pecking order and dominance is revisited or can occur at any time, not just in the spring.
