Fall Turkey Tactics
How do you hunt Turkey in the fall season as compared to the spring when they are seeking to mate? Do you still use calls? If so what calls should you use for fall birds? When is the best time of day in the fall or is it like the spring when you may see them out all day? Thanks

The best way is to scatter the flock and call them back in. I like to bust them up right after they go to roost and be waiting on them the next morning. Those young turkeys don't like to be alone so when it starts breaking daylight you can here them kee keeing.

Huntin family flocks is alot of fun.Scatter them, set up at the scatter site,I start off with kee-kee's then I just imitate the first bird to answer. If ya hear the boss hen doin her assembly yelp, get up and run her off(the other birds will ignore you and go straight to her.To kill Longbeards in the fall.Best to pattern them and wait em out.Cluck maybe once every hour or so.I've sat in the same spot for two days to kill an old longbeard that was seperated from his buddies. He only clucked once. They just don't care if they're alone. So for non-stop action,go after the family flocks.
