Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

Default Turkey calls

How many turkey calls do you take hunting with you?
I carry about 10 of them. Use em all.

Two or three. I carry a Bettis custom calls Sassafrass box call http://www.bettiscustomcalls.com/yah...es.5484753.jpg
A knight and hale or quaker boy slate call, and occasionally a primos box cutter. Plus a hoot owl locator makes 5 some of the time. Why so many spud?

Three - one box call (Lynch), one slate (Primos) and one mouth call that sounds like a kazoo most of the time but hey, I keep trying!!

I am carrying 2 a box call and an electronic Phatom call. None of that appears to matter right now as the turkeys are not answering anything for me right now. I will have to head over to a corn field in Charleston I am afraid if I am going to see any birds at all right now. Where i have been hunt a hen came out and ran across the road while I was leaving the place. Other than that nothing at all..

always 5, sometimes 6-7, always 2 pots, 2 mouth, and 1 gobble shaker. Sometimes a box, a crow call, and I do my own hoot.

I used to carry about 5 or 6. But now I find myself bringing about 2, other than a few locator calls. I use a custom slate call, that my dad designed, about 99% of the time, while the other is basically a backup. I find that call my dad made to sound the 2nd best ive ever heard, the first being the Lohman Thunderdome.

I've got my David Halloran Cacklin Crystal, Tom Teasers Slate, H.S. Ceramic Ring Zone, H.S. Glass Witch, Redhead Xtreme Box Call (believe it or not it sounds damn good), and 4 different mouth calls. I use all of them when I'm hunting in my blind!
