I have the Remington 870 Express Super Mag and I love it. I believe they have a couple different turkey specific models available. The super mag shoots 3 1/2's.

I have a Browning BPS that I like a lot. It bottom ejects which is nice. I have separate barrels for turkey, deer, and waterfowl. I also have a Benelli SuperNova. Both are great guns but I give the nod to the Browning.

Benelli Super Black Eagle works well for me. Semi that can throw out 3 shots as quick as you can blink your eye. Great for waterfowlers and turkey hunting. I use 3 1/2 #5 with a custom choke. I have to note the 3 shots are rarely needed. One well placed usually puts them down in a heap. That gun can reach out and knock them down. I had a custom lazer porting job done on the barrel and that tames the recoil.

A remington 870 would be a great choice if you want a 12 ga they are good guns as are the mossbergs. I personally use a browning bps 10 ga and also a remington sp-10 10 ga with a thumbhole stock 23" barrel this is a really nice gun. If money isn't an issue the sp-10 would be a good choice mine shoots well and in both 10 ga guns I shoot 2 1/4 oz # 5 turkey loads and they patten well and the recoil isn't as bad as any 3.5 inch 12 I have ever owned. The downside in some peoples opinions is the weight of the 10 ga guns I will take the weight and have less recoil. Browning makes an nwtf model bps and gold 10 ga they are nice handling guns as well.

Good luck on whatever you choose and remember the lighter guns will have more recoil than the heavier guns will. the most important thing is find a gun that fits you well.

here is the sp-10 that I have this picture is on the remington site

here are some guns on gunboker

browning bps 10 ga http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/Vie...Item=168211394

rem sp-10 http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/Vie...Item=168557079

bowning gold 10 ga http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/Vie...Item=168811148

mossberg 835 12 ga http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/Vie...Item=167390475

mossberg 535 http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/Vie...Item=167326463

hope this is a help and just in my opinion a browning bps 10 is well worth the 700 dollars but the mossbergs will do just fine.

good luck

you'd probably get the best buy in a used 835, sometimes i see them here for $200 after turkey season. I have 2 and they are great, but part of this season i've been using a 20 ga. 870 and it's been amazing. Two killed, both at app. 40 yds.

Thats the exact combination I use.

As far as the gun goes, its hard to beat the Mossberg 835 when it comes to a turkey gun.
