Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

Default My first Tom!

Well this morning was Kentuckys opener and I finally connected with a tom after 3 years of pursuit! The morning was perfect and I couldnt ask for a better hunt.

Right at daylight a tom gobbled like 40 yards from me in the roost, and 15 minutes later he was 20 yards from me strutting! I couldnt get a clear shot because he was up on the ridge and all I could see was his fan and glimpses of his big ol head and then I lost sight of him. Not even 15 minutes later I seen his red head poking up above the grass and coming right towards me.

I got so excited I couldnt even use my striker on my slate call cuz all I could hear was tap'tap'tap'tap cuz i was shaking so bad haha He came within 15 yards of me and I laid the smackdown on the big guy.

I walked up on him and to my surprise he had 3 beards!!! I dont think you can wipe the smile off my face today

23lbs. 6oz.
3/4 inch spurs
10 in., 5in., and 4 in. beards
