Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

Default Does the moon phase mean anything???

Hi guys!

Does anyone here pay attention to the moon phases and how that affects the turkey's behavior??? I know several deer hunters who swear by this - curious to see if any turkey hunters do...

Very interested in hearing your thoughts!!! Thanks!!!

It's easier to get spotted by birds when you're trying to move in on them under a full moon. Stay out of the open areas.

Never put any thought into the moon phase. However, I do put a ton of thought into High Pressure systems. In IL. when you get drawed to hunt for 5-7 days at a time you don't have much time to worry about the moon....lol!

LOL that's true 2 Lunger!!!

My husband was telling me how the moon phase affects the movement/feeding patters of deer... I was just curious if anyone noticed this affecting turkey behaviors.

Just a little food for thought - I am starting to dream about killing turkeys now - YIKES! That would make it a 24/7 obsession now... hahaha

Thanks for the replies guys!!! I hope to get more!

I agree with 2 lunger on the barometric pressure affectin the birds.I think the moon does affect them too but not to the extent of the barometric pressure.
