Mouth calls??
#1
Hey, This will be my second year turkey hunting and I'm fully addicted. What I was wondering is how often do ya'll clean yore mouth calls, if at all and how do ya'll do it??
I've been running warm water over the call every night after using, rubbing between the latex with a toothpick and leaving the toothpick in to dry. Is this overkill???

I guess it could be. Just depends on how germaphobic your are. Mine usually sit in the fridge during the offseason and then before I ever put them in my mouth the first time of the year they get washed in mouth wash. I will repeat this once a week until season is over.

This is what I do also. Use alcohol free mouthwash.

As soon as you get home from each hunt rinse them with warm water. Then store them in the freezer. When you pull them out to use them the next morning or in 7 months time, the reeds are just as you left them, and the sound will be crisp and clear.
