With hens raising there youngins about now I often wonder how tough it must be to avoid all these predators that want to eat em!Birds of prey, all the nest eaters, and then they have to deal with these doods!!Which do you believe is the # 1 predator in your area!Dont tell me man either cause we legally can only hunt a couple months out of the year at most in many areas but the turks have to deal with these dudes all year!![:@]

Funny you bring that up Trap,I' ve done it before and I have found kills in those same areas that i belive were done by lions! In fact I have talked to many folks who have actually witnessed cougars stalking flocks of birds during the fall season! This fricken moritorium they have on these cats in this state is a joke! And they wonder whats wrong with our deer herd![:@][:' (]

I would say coons because no one hunts or traps them around here anymore and the population has exploded. Coyotes use to be a big problem but the last 3 years mange has knocked their numbers down quite a bit. Guys went from shooting 80 a winter to shooting 7-10.

HERE IN MS. THE COON,SKUNK,COYOTE AND BOBCAT POPULATIONS ARE ON THE INCREASE! MORE AND MORE RESISTANCE IS BEING PLACED ON DOG HUNTING DURING CLOSED SEASONS FOR DEER OR TURKEY.LEGAL GUNS FOR THESE CRITTERS ARE .22S AND SHOTGUNS WITH SHOT NO LARGER THAN #6S.PRIVATE LEASE OR LANDOWNERS HAVE MORE OPTIONS BUT THE PROBLEMS ARE ON PUBLIC HUNTING AREAS WHERE IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO HUNT THESE PROBLEM ANIMALS EXCEPT DURING DEER/TURKEY SEASON.IT IS HARD FOR ME TO TAKE A SHOT WHILE ON A STAND HUNTING A PARTICULAR BUCK AND I WANT EVEN SHOOT A COTTONMOUTH DURING A TURKEY HUNT.I DON' T KNOW HOW OUR TURKEY POPULATION CONTINUES TO THRIVE UNLESS IT IS THE JAKE LAW.WE HAVE EXCELLENT RESOURCES AND I CAN' T COMPLAIN BUT AM CONCERNED SINCE I SEE MORE AND MORE OF THESE ANIMALS DURING DAYLIGHT HOURS.
