Great to back on the turkey board boys. Well 'i just cleaned up an ole winchester model 1300 turkey 12ga (grandpa put camo tape on it about 15 years ago so you can see what happened) I spent all day rubiing this thing down with Acetone. Anyway its goin to be my ,"turkey specialist" So I need a choke. I've seen good feedback for the H.S. Undertaker and looked into the primos Jellyhead. Jellyhead didnt have one for the 1300 though. So any suggestions???

The H. S. Strut, UnderTaker is what I have in my Winchester model 1300.
It patterns good.

i've got a winchester 1300 speed pump and i just use the XX-full choke that came from winchester. it works pretty good. but im also looking at getting the undertaker for mine

Test the load you're going to use. I know choke tubes are not exactly cheap, but see if there's other turkey nuts that have tubes that will fit your gun and try them.

Most brands have their fans & detractors. That being said, I used Win xfull and then went with a CompNChoke. I got a Briley choke tube, made for hevi-shot. It might not be worth the $ I spent, but we'll see.

Main thing is to get an idea of how your gun , choke tube and turkey load combination work together. Do this and your odds of making a good, clean shot increase. Whatever tube you go with, screw it in and clean out barrel, esp the tube with a bore brush. Even a new tube that looks clean will shoot better after cleaning.

I have the 1992 NWTF version 1300, and I love mine. Nice light weight gun to carry around the woods all morning, even scoped. The choke of choice for the last several years now is a Rhino choke sized .660, along with the Nitro Co. plated heavishot tri-plex loads. Awesome patterns out to 40 yards.

My dad has the 1300. He shoots a Hastings choke. Not sure what size. I rolled a bird at 43 yards with it with Winchester Supreme #6 3".

I use a Hastings .660 in my with #6, 3 inch Win Supremes. I once shot and killed a tom at 49 yards with it, further than I liked but last day, last chance shot.

If you are planning on shooting heavier than lead I would recommend either Indian Creek or Pure Gold choke. The .660 choke would be the size to start with.

I use the 1300 with the undertaker and Hevi-shot. I believe you will find good patterns to 40 yds. and acceptable out to 45 yds. with this combo. By acceptable I mean over 100 pellets in a 10 inch circle. Get the undertaker for heavier-than-lead shot and test some loads.
