Default Tom Kelly and fan decoy

You know I just got finished watching a show from Mossy Oaks hunting the country were the Cuz does a hunt with Tom Kelly... After watching that show I really kinda got a feeling the Tom Kelly was the real deal... He talks a lot about how turkey hunting is supose to be hard and that people that hunt with decoys are just bushwackers...

Now matter what ,I still have a lot of respect for the man...

I was just curious if anybody seen this show with him hunting with a turkey fan as a decoy...

Im figuring that the all mighty green deamons made him change his way of thinking

Welp I just watched a video that I bought from Tom Kelly... It was called the " Fan Club "...

And it showed him hunting with a group of guys that outfitted out in Nebraska/South Dakota... Anyhow these outfitters are the one who used the fan to lore some gobblers in for Mr Kelly to shoot...

Mr. Kelly after seeing this technique in action basically relized that his way is not the only way to kill turkeys... So he kinda retracted his statements on turkey hunting with decoys...

The man has never hunted out of the state of Alabama for turkey's in his whole life and he said he has been hunting them for some 70 years...

Now that he got a taste of some easy turkey hunting he's hooked...

Anyhow I just firgured I'd clear that up...

Thumbs up

Decoys are just another "tool of the trade" for the turkey hunter. I always hear of somebody putting their use down. While not a 100% guarantee of success, it does put the odds in your favor if used properly. Maybe even good ol' Tommy boy himself changed his mind now!!! LOL!!

I really think the only reason he changed his view on decoy hunting has a lot to do with the "Cuz"...

He made the coment in on one of his video's that he wouldn't let half ass purity come between buisness...

Hear latly he has made a couple video's with Mossy Oak... So I'm guessing that he kinda likes hanging out with the "Cuz" and doesent want to rock the boat...

Anyhow. He's still the man in my book... I'd like to meet him some day soon!!!
