tky1187, I' ve hunted PA a number of times. The birds are tough there , but I wouldn' t say any tougher then Ontario. Knowing the travel routes and the lay of the land makes the game that much more easyer...BT

I started hunting turkeys in 1962, in south and north east Texas, during deer season. As far as how many I can' t really remember. I never was interested much in numbers, but I suppose in excess of twenty. I didn' t hunt each of those 40 years due to family, work and other commitments. As I look around my computer room I have 4 fans with beards and some with spurs, a beard board with four beards. Also have two fans and beards in my shop that are prepared just waiting to be placed on plaques.

I started Hunting Turkeys in 1997, To date I have 5 gobblers and one fall Jake in the books.
I was 25 when I got my first gobbler if I remember right.

I' ve been turkey hunting about 20 years and have taken about 30 toms
give or take a few. Once you really get addicted, the numbers go up quickly.
How about this math: Average about 15 days a year turkey hunting, getting
up about 2 hours earlier than normal each day for 20
years equals about 600 hours of lost sleep. Was it worth
it? You bet your beard it was !! :D

:D Well this season that just past was my 3rd season looking for Mr. Longbeard..no bird this year..:(..got lucky & dropped 2 last year so my grand total is 2 longbeards! [:-] I was 48 when I started the search for Mr. Longbeard but have been deer hunting in excess of 30 years....;)....Brampton Mike[8D]

I got hooked in 1983....first time I ever saw a Turkey in strut when I moved to Missouri. I have never been the same! I shot my first in 1985. Ill never forget calling him in..I had no real clue what to do but he really loved what I said. In 84-85, I spent hours driving my car trying to not gag on a call and make some noise. I must have spit gallons on that windshield, dash, and instrument panel.

Looking back. I have enjoyed Turkeys, seeing them, hunting them, and just enjoy watching them as much as any game animal.

And the great thrill of calling one in for my son and him taking his first bird was excellent.

I started turkey hunting 3 years ago at age 47. In those 3 seasons I have taken 9 birds. I got 1 my first season, 4 my second season, and 4 this year, and I can remember everything about the hunt for each one.

THE LIMIT HERE IN MISSISSIPPI IS 3 GOBBLERS IN THE LAST FEW YEARS AND 5 PRIOR TO THAT.WE HAVE FALL SEASONS INSIDE THE LEVEE ON OLD MAN RIVER .I FALL HUNTED ONCE,TOOK A JAKE AND HAVE NEVER FALL HUNTED AGAIN.I HAVE BEEN BLESSED TO TAKE THE LEGAL LIMIT OF SPRING GOBBLERS EACH YEAR SINCE 1982.

I shot my first turkey when I was 17. Ive killed 3 hens and 26 gobblers in 20 yr. of hunting. I have only shot Easterns in Florida so Im ready to try other states and go for the grandslam.[:-]
