not in spring..but in fall they are terrible...there in rut and are running crazy!! me and my dad had one a 7-8 pt...walked within 2 feet of my dad...my dad had to jump at the buck to scare it so it didnt attack him! we had 4 bucks that day in our spots

yea had a good bird coming last spring and a doe was bedded in the brush right next to me.she was there for several min. and at the worst time she jumped up and ran off blowning ans scared the bird.

deer have smelled me but as far as the strutting gobbler goes i havent had any problems with deer!

once I used a fawn as cover so I could sneek up on a bird. The fawn got up 20 ft away from me while i was calling to a gobbler. the fawn didn't know to be afraid so it just hung around. It wouldn't shew away. It became interested in the Tom gobbling and headed that way. I gave it a little start and i followed. So I think it helped me get on the chase with out getting busted. I chased that tom a mile through the woods only to get busted 3 hrs later as I made a wrong step. It was the best hunt I have ever been on.
