Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

Default Hunting in the RAIN

Oh well, this week is the week I save for me to take a bird after using the first week to help my 12 year old nephew and now it looks like a wet week. I have taken some good birds in the rain but it is still hard to get out of bed every morning to the sound of rain drops. My plan is to set-up between the birds roost and a field I know they`ll try to head for when it rains. Anyone else us the same tactic on rainy days?

i listened to all the veterans, books and tapes and had a couple rainy days on my hunt.and yes i saw birds in the field and field edges, though due to my inexperiance, they saw me to.i have not found any argument that turkeys like open areas in the rain and high wind.i also found it pays to have high end binoculars and approach open areas quietly and scan,if you see birds, back up slowly and make a plan.good luck.

I' d rather hunt a rainy day than any other type of weather. Both birds I took this year were on rainy days. One in a field and the other in open woods.I think the rain also keeps alot of other hunters home.
