Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

Default Spring tactics revisited

OK, had a bad season this past week. (Yep...5 days=1 season!) ONLY bird that came to calling, was a tom I accidently bumped off the roost walking in. (Come on, he was right above the trail going in...not my fault, I swear!) He came in without gobbling about an hour into the hunt. Rest of the boys seemed to be with hens. I watched some toms fly down, then the little hussies flew right down next to them and walked off with them. SO>>>> should a guy have changed tactics and gone to busting birds off the roost and calling them back together like you do in the fall???

I don' t think that works as well in the springtime, though I' ve never tried it. I agree those hussy hens can be a problem.

Turkeysrule,I hunted the 2nd season and the birds were henned up bad. What worked for me was roosting in the evening and getting set up early in the morning and close to the roost tree.
