Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

Default Finally!!!!!

I bagged my first turkey on Thursday after trying for 4 years. He has a 9 inch beard that looks like a paint brush and 1.5 inch spurs. He weighed 22 pounds. I have pics of him but not on my computer to post.

I agree with Ma - we need to see those spurs and at that size is more than likely a 4+ yr old bird and a very- very nice bird for your 1st.

Anytime you bag a bird over 60 points and is a Eastern, Merriam or Rio Grande specie - using the National Wild Turkey Federation scoring system you have bagged a trophy! Anytime! If it was an Osceola well then it is even bigger yet!

Good job....

Your score is 22 + 15 + 15 + 18 = 70

I didn't even know that they scored turkeys. I would have considered a full body mount if i had known that. Great info.

I am working on the pics to post on here. They are on my mom's camera since I didn't bring mine with me that day in the field. It's kinda funny that I am 35 years old and still have my mom taking pictures of my hunting achievements. But I do hunt her land and she loves to know when I am successful.
