Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

Default GOBBLER Double Down [pics]

This was my first chance to hunt for my season here in West Michigan. Sadly, I was not able to hunt the morning but managed to get out about 11 o'clock. Found a good flock of birds and setup in a sparse opening that led up from a creek bed. Within minutes I had a few hens trickle in, the jakes followed. I began a very light, short segment of calling and the woods came alive. Gobblers about blew my ear drums.

Fast forward about 30 seconds, and the big ole' boys were on there way in. Turkey were everywhere, hens crossing us at about 10 yards. Finally, I gave a few last clucks and the toms neared the 15 yards marker.

I gave my dad the nod, and it was in the books. The best turkey hunt of my life. Called in two beautiful toms, the first day out, with my dad.

Enjoy the pictures.

Congrats for sure.
I think you may have just caused some inspiration for me! My dad did the hunters safety course with me but has never hunted, he did the course cause I wanted to hunt. My dad is all legal to hunt, I think I may try to get him out there, either call for him and he can carry the gun he bought me 20yrs ago, or borrow another from a friend and try for a double like you guys.
Thanks bh14, this is something I want to do b4 its too late!
