RE: Is it my calling?

Muzzy, it wouldn't hurt to call a "little" while their roosted. I like to get them to answer me one time. I always turn my head around to face away from the gobbler the first time I call and I call softly. If he cuts me off- I'm done. If not I will turn to the side and repeat. I'll do it one more time facing the bird and if I haven't gotten a response I wait for flydown. I usually wait 2-3 min. in between series. I call while their roosted of course to get the gobbler's attn. but also to listen for hens. I like to know what my competition is doing. If I hear hens behind me approaching and I can get away with it I will deliberately spook them. I'm not one that try's to set up directly under a gobbler in the morning. About 75 yds is about as close as I'll get. Good luck! this wk. end.

Bro you have to tree yelp and do a fly down cut, you needto convince the gobbler your the first of his hens to hit the ground so they pitch to you. try to get a little mor aggressive. If it's private ground you have nothing to lose but time. I recommend changing up your calls to so they aren't hearing the same cadence and tones every day
