Default 20 gauge patterns?

I am curious how 20 gauges pattern compared to 12 gauge. I realize there will be less pellets and such but for some reason I really want to hunt turkeys with a 20 gauge. Not sure why...maybe kind of nice though. Anywho...I was just curious if anyone here has patterned their 20 gauge and what the results were?

If you have..could you please also note the Gun model, choke, distance, and shell.

Thank you!

I turkey hunted with a 20 ga for years when i was younger and kill a ton of birds with it. They pattern well but just dont have the distance.

my 20 ga was a - Mossberg 500 20ga with 3" Mag Turkey Shells. 6 Shot with XX Full Choke

Hahaha....nice! What an ethical hunter you are[8D]I think the bead on my 870 would about cover a turkey at 80 yards

Seriously? youd shoot a tom at 80 yards with your shotgun?

What kind of gun and choke and shot combo are you using?

You ever patterned it at 80 yards?

At 70 yes. The Turkey i posted yesterday was killed at 65-70 yards with my shotgun. I use a Mossberg 835 Ultra-Mag with Federal Turkey 6 shot with a kicks gobblin thunder choke tube with a Redhead reddot scope.

I understand completly, it isnt like i shoot that distanceeveryday. But i have patterned it there to see if i ever had a bird going away i could take a shot a be comfortable. I have killed most birds alot closer than that, but its nice to know how far you can reach and be accurate. I would not ever attempt to shoot a bird any farther than that. That is insane but i am so gald i know because that instance came up with the bird i killed the other day and hey it payed off.

But i do understand and I dont wont people here to think badly of me, I try to be ethical in everything I do. Like i said I dont take that shot everyday but i have never owned a gun that would pattern as good as this Mossberg i have.

I am just trying to become a normal regular here and not be a outcast, i am sorry if my earlier post upset anyone my apologize.
