Blessed with taking number 4!!! (PIC)
Heard him gobble around 100 yards from me. I was set up on the edge of a plowed field. Was in the same place last week and never heard the first gobble. This one gobbled at a crow and then a little later at a hawk. I let him know I was there with some soft clucks and a tree yelp. He did not gobble to either. I saw him fly into the field and begin to strut. I saw a hen which looked as though was going to drag the gobbler into the woods away from me. Again I reminded the gobbler that I was there. Then I got to watch the big ole boy breed the hen. When they were finished the hen worked her way down the field right in front of me. When she got by---I once again reminded the gobbler that I was near.
With that he started my way. My heart was thumping. He gobbled once and then picked up speed. Then it appeared that he was interested in something further down the field which I could not see. When he got directly in front of me I fired. It was a bit of a long shot---but he went right down.
This has been a blessed year for me. 4 nice longbeards. I still have 2 more days left.
20lbs 3oz
1 1/8 and 7/8 inch spurs (both real thick at the base with broken off tips)
10 1/2 beard

Sour01, you ARE the man!! Boy, a guy' s gotta love it down in Dixie! Long seasons and big bag limits. And I don' t doubt that you won' t limit out either! Congratulations and good luck on #5.
