1st bow kill gobbler
#1
The lord blessed me today with my first ever gobbler during the spring. I have been very lucky this year and decided to try something a little different and take my bow. I set up in the same area my 5 yr old killed his bird a week ago. The wind was rough and the rain didn't help anything. I soft yelped and putted a few times at around 7:45a.m. with no response. I sat for about 20 more minutes and caught some movement from my left. I had 2 hens feeding through at about 30yds. Not a minute after they feed through I saw more movement and here came the gobbler in full strut. I don't know if I could have keep my nerves down any better with my shotgun but having thta bow in my hand i almost busted. He came out of strut and walked about 20 more yds. He feed around with the hens for about 3 or 4 minutes before giving me a chance to draw my bow. I came to full draw and let it fly. I hit him while he was feeding and hit him about 2 inches above the beard and the broadhead came out just beside the fan. I could not believe what I had just accomplished. It wasn't quiet as good as my son taking his first bird but it wasn't that far away from it either. My wife is downloading the pictures from the camera tonight and I will try and post the pics tommorow. THanks for reading.

That's one ugly turkey in the middle, but those on each side look great. I think a bowkill is a great feat, congratulations. If I can run through three more tags I might take my Wildfire out after one.
