2 Birds Down In PA (Pics)
Had a great opening morning Here in PA, Even though it was raining that couldn' t ruin my day. I got one saturday morning just before 6:30am. From the time I heard the bird first gobble to the time he was flopping on the ground it was 2 minutes or under. In fact the bird was still running in a full strut when I shot him. He was a 20lb eastern with a 9 1/4" beard with 7/8" spurs. Then around 8:10am my buddy shot one after we worked him for around 45min. Man what a show that bird put on I got to see him work his way in spittin and drumming, what a sight. His bird was 21lbs with 1" spurs with a 9 1/2" beard. We figured they wre both around 2 1/2 years old. Now next weekend we are planning on taking his stepson out wile I will call for him my buddy will video tape the hunt. By the way called my bird in using the Cody Black 3 reed special cut mouth call. Put the bird down using a Winchester Model 1300 Balck Shadow with an Undertaker Choke and Winchester Supreme HV 3" #6 shot, at 15 yards.

Here is my buddy with his grandson with his bird, he visits this board and posts as Ram96. Another thing is that our birds were shot about 100yards from one another. They were shot just outside of State College near Jullian PA.

I knowyou would think the head would be gone, but Like I said above he was still moving when I shot him and moving fast. I ranged it with my laser rangefinder. It still made a mess you should see all of th blood on my clothes, thank God it is rain gear and will wash right off with the exception of my vest I' ll have to put that in the washing machine. But hey it was well worth it.
