Though there isno such thing as a replacement for my broken Thunderdome crystal (crack down the middle), and i cant find another one,im trying to find the closest thing to it. Has anyone had any experience with the Primos Power Crystal? I want something that can reach out to long distances or to call soft with at short distances. Something that makes very nice yelps and cuts. Thanks for any info you have.

My brother has the Power Crystal and it is one of the better sounding slates. It makes nice yelps and cuts and doesnt need to be resurfaced very often. I'd pick one up for sure. I have the Primos Jackpot glass and i think the power crystal sounds much better.

I use a Power Crystal and love it. It really makes great cuts and purrs and when I need it to be it will get loud. It is my number one call that I use and I have recomended it to a couple of friends and they loved it too.Hope this helps.

I have both the Thunderdome and Power Crystal and love em both. I dont use the Thunderdome much anymore because the back aluminum dome is dented in pretty badly and I don't have the right striker to get the right sound with it. I carry the power crystal every single time I go though, awesome call with the purple heart striker. Keep the crystal surface and the striker tip sanded and it sounds excellent. I used to have a black magic call and the flat tipped black striker that came with that one sounded soooo good on the power crystal, but I lost it.

Just went to Dicks Sporting Goods and bought me a Power Crystal, and you guys are right, it does sound wonderful!

Its an awesome call, i have been using it for quite along time, for the money one of th best sounding glass calls out there, i use the purple heart striker with it, also try the primos heartbreaker box, cant beat the combo

I found that the striker I have from my old M.A.D. Super Aluminator sounds better than the one that was included with it.

For anyone looking for the closest thing to the Lohman Thunderdome (crystal), this is it, in my opinion. I looked everywhere to find a replacement for my broken one and this is probably the closest thing to it. Great call. Makes loud and soft calls, both sounding great.
