Preserving Fans the easy way
#11
Wish I' d found this board last year to ask some questions on this. I cured my first fan in salt. The good news is, no smell, no bugs. The bad news is, I never thought to spread the fan out before curing it! Can you say MORON! well, thats me! One day I' ll mess with it and try soaking in a borax/water solution to try to soften it up and spread it out. I was just so happy to bag my first gobbler last year that I didn' t even really give preserving the fan much thought. Well, my season starts this Wednesday, can hardly wait. Maybe I' ll get lucky and have a shot at mounting fan #2.
