Shot my first ILL. bird yesterday what a thrill was watchin a hen walk around in my deks. about 20 yrds to my left and as she walked off when she was out of sight I clucked at her real soft a couple of times and as I did I heard a couple of soft clucks to my right as I turned my head SLOWLY hear stood two big toms one head up lookin around one head down pickin in the field I eased up my 11-87 held it on the head down tom he looked bigger and clucked once when he lifted his head it was lights out he never new what hit him. after the shot the coolest thing happened the other tom just stood there and when the other bird flapped a time or two he stomped him good purrin and stompin never saw that before so I didn' t jump up he just stood there lookin around with his head bright red and finally walked off. Them birds slipped up on me while I was watchin that hen MAN WHAT A THRILL. could have had em both but only had one tag so the other walked my bird felt every bit as heavy as my 22 1/2 pounder from MO. last yr. 10 in. beard but only 1 in spurs a nice 2 yr old.
OFF to MO late next week let the fun begin again.
SORRY for the long post but I' m still hyped what a show
