Turkey Hunting Whether it's spring or fall doesn't matter to this bunch. Great tips on calling, bustin flocks, using blinds and more.

Default My son got a nice one

Monday night was our opener,We had a nasty strong wind blowing,So I told my son
I wasn' t sure how we would do.
I picked Him up after I got off work,We went to our hunting spot.
I would do some calling when the wind would subside,After about 1 1/2 hours a hen came out followed by a nice looking Tom.
I called to him a little to get him worked up,He came over towards the decoy He got to 12yds,I told my son it' s now or never,He let loose with his 20gauge 3 inch Turkey mag' s and Bowled that Tom head over Heal' s.
stat' s
8 1/2 inch Beard
1 1/8 inch spurs
24 1/2 pound' s

There was alot of back pat' s& hand shake
man what a night

Tell your son great job. If we had more fathers taking their sons hunting, we would not have some of the problems with our youth.

Actually that is his third Bird,Last year was his first year He could hunt them.
We got a double last spring,Then got another Double in the Fall.
I figured I would make sure He got his bird first before I hunt for Mine.
But last year it worked out good that we both got our Bird' s the same time.
The wind that was blowing on our opener,I wasn' t sure if We would see anything.
But everything worked out good.
